According to Texas State Law (Transportation Safety Code 551.404), a municipality may allow an operator to operate a golf cart on all or part of a public highway that:
(1) is in the corporate boundaries of the municipality; and
(2) has a posted speed limit of not more than 35 MPH.
A golf cart operated on a public roadway must have the following equipment:
-headlamps
-taillamps
-reflectors
-parking brake
-mirrors
-slow moving vehicle emblem
Without required equipment, your golf cart may not be operated on any roadways, and if you are found to be doing do, you may be issued a citation.
